The American Dream is Alive in China, uh?

The American Dream is Alive in China but the question remains at what cost? Apparently, the American dream is indicated by the amount of optimism in the population. Optimism that is fueled by key indicators like the economy and all the opportunity is provides. Which raises questions about why basic needs aren’t addressed with more urgency. When more of the population has basic needs at a level adequate for healthy living the optimism should be high right? Either way, regardless of the explanation people in the world know that the American Dream is and has always been only a dream.

Even though the top five Sources of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Electricity (28.5%), Transportation (28.5%), Industry (22%), Commercial and Residential (11%), and Agriculture (9%) are in a downward trend compared to a decade ago, global temperatures continue to rise. And the evidence of polar caps shrinking, weather pattern changes, and coral reef destruction isn’t enough to convince politicians and C.E.O’s that production methods must adhere to new standards, immediately.

And herein, the citizen finds him or herself in a conundrum with only a selfish answer left to choose. For what other option is there in a world of chaos but the choice of survival. So millions have joined in because of fear but it is time to choose love of life. There is a ray of light that if enough Citizens grab hold of we can change the world and it begins with self, it begins with a plant based diet.

Eating a plant based diet to decrease current greenhouses gases sounds like a long shot but it’s promising option. In fact, according to the article a Huge reduction in meat-eating “essential” to avoid climate breakdown. The estimated U.S. land used for Range and Pasture Land, some 788 million acres, or 41.4% of the U.S. is grazed by livestock. An additional 349 million acres in the U.S. are planted for crops and about 80% is used to feed livestock. In contrast to roughly 3 million acres for all vegetable production. The whole meat production industry is primitive in that it seeks to satisfy a lust for flesh because it is a very inefficient means of producing 10-20 grams of protein and some trace minerals. Not to mention the methods of production are questionable at best leading one to wonder about the final product.

Save the earth and stop eating meat! Eat more green.

“There is anger in my state about the administration’s failure to protect us,”

The Trump administration sees a 7 degree rise in global temperatures by 2100. And what’s being done about the findings? Nothing. What’s been done by the administration to curb the effects of global warming? Nothing.

Washington Gov. Jay Inlee was quoted in the article saying “There is anger in my state about the administration’s failure to protect us. When you taste it on your tongue, it’s a reality.”

Undoubtedly, global warming is the only mass level event to shock people that are directly affected by rising temperatures. Unlike racism, where it’s hard to understand what possibly goes through someone’s mind when they are tortured for something incidental, global warming is right in your face everyday. Its like pollution, when you’re in it you can’t see it but when you fly into LAX during the day and you can’t see the freeway parking lots you think it’s just cloud cover. But no, it’s an increasing amount of pollutants that you and the 3.7 million inhabitants are breathing along with oxygen and nitrogen.

Since the early 19th century governments around the world have suspected global temperature changes and its life altering impact. However, the typical evils of greed, envy, and power will soon leave the world’s population with no planet to call home. And the governor of Washington is claiming that the Trump administration has failed to protect us. No wonder nothing is ever accomplished in government because the people in government are waiting on the government to protect them and us.

Tens of Thousands March in Support of Climate Change Summit in California

The statistical data is hard to debate and the empirical evidence is just too obvious to ignore, so why are there so many climate change skeptics? Why is there so little done by governing bodies to implement solutions to the warming and destruction of our planet? There is no planet B. And unfortunately, we all know that it comes down to the dollars and cents.

And just like global warming solutions to poverty are hinged upon the profitability of those in decision making positions. Poverty is not necessary but it is inevitable in a capitalistic economy. And just like global warming the statistical data and empirical evidence makes it hard to deny that poverty isn’t destroying lives, families, society, and the planet. We don’t get a second life to live like this is some video game. And despite how great ones faith may be heaven is not for sure.

The Human Rights Union believes that heaven is here in this lifetime, on this earth and is a direct relationship to the choices we make as individuals and as a society. What do you believe in heaven or hell?
