“The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it. Power is what all messiahs really seek: not the chance to serve. This is true even of the pious brethren who carry the gospel to foreign parts.” H.L. Mencken
The Human Rights Union (HRU) is not a messiah. But the quote raises questions about the underlying reasons for the HRU. Are the true intentions of the HRU to rule or gain power? That could only be answered if there wasn’t a need to save humanity. The HRU differs from the “pious brethren who carry gospel to foreign parts”, in promoting, providing, and protecting basic needs for all. The HRU gospel is based on the knowledge, wisdom, and overstanding of the “pious brethren” but union style. When mankind acts in a manner that reflects current knowledge that true peace and security is found in basic needs for all, the urge to save humanity is the urge to save one self.
